Black Bean Tuna Burger

A healthy alternative to traditional burgers, our Black Bean Tuna Burger is made from a mixture of black beans, albacore tuna and breadcrumbs.

Place beans in a medium bowl and mash with a fork until a chunky paste forms. Add egg, red pepper flakes, lime juice, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and stir until mixed well. Stir in green onions, then add tuna and gently stir just until combined. Form mixture into 4 patties and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.

Place oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add patties and cook about 3 minutes, or until golden brown. Flip and cook until other side is golden brown and patties are hot throughout, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and serve on rolls with avocado, tomato, onions and lettuce. Serves 4.
